''Brethren Voices,'' is completing its 20th year of production, sharing the stories of Brethren who work for peacemaking, social justice and and advocating for the Creation, we know as Earth. Since its beginnings in Germany, the Church of the Brethren has a history of working for and advocating things that make for peace.
"Brethren Voices," during the past 19 years, has shared the stories of Brethren from 18 different states and the countries of Ecuador; Honduras, Nigeria, Haiti; Japan; South Sudan; Cuba, Dominican Republic. During the past year, we have featured the stories: "The Golden Rule - Sailing For A Nuclear-Free-World;" "Sierra Wildfire" Song and Story Fest and Mike Stern - Song Writer, Singer, Composer and Certified Laughter Leader." "Brethren Volunteer Service, celebrating its 75th Anniversary" and its director were also featured. Other programs shared the subjects of "Hospice;" "Earth Care;" "We Are Americans- Living & Dying With Guns-A-Plenty." Our June 2024 program featured "The World Friendship Center of Hiroshima, Japan and the Peace Ambassadors Exchange From Japan."
Ed Groff, the producer of "Brethren Voices" stated, we never imagined that our focus would reach so many people from coast to coast.
