Open Signal members help us provide Portland with access to video production training, professional cameras, editing software, studios, and one-on-one project facilitation — bringing our communities’ stories and perspectives to the screen. With your support we work to remove barriers like cost and experience which keep many of us from participating in the digital media, film, and tv industry. This is especially true for those of us who are Black, Indigenous, or from other communities of color; are living with disabilities; on low incomes; or speak English as our second language.
Your membership includes access to our shared workspaces, a platform to share your work via our five cable channels. Once you've attended Orientation and completed our certification classes, you also get access to free studio reservations and free camera and equipment rentals.
“Over the course of five months through Open Signal’s cohort program, I went from having no experience to at the end feeling confident enough to get work as a videographer and create media. By supporting Open Signal, you’re supporting artists like me.”
