A hands-on introduction to projection mapping & immersive installation with the software MadMapper. Students will explore video materiality and spatial design in this 3 hour workshop. Transform your environment with original video content, or design a space with generative material. From software to hardware, we'll cover the basics to get you started mapping the world around you. Instructor Bio: Sarah Turner is a new media and video artist working between Portland Oregon and New York. She creates large scale immersive environments and performances through analog media and creative coding. Turner is the Co-Founder of Mobile Projection Unit, which creates site specific installations around the Pacific Northwest through outdoor projection mapping. Her work has been shown at Portland Art Museum, Portland Institute for Contemporary Art’s TBA Festival, Portland International Film Festival, Northwest Film Center, Spaceness Festival, Marfa Open Festival, Laboratory Residency and more. She is currently an MFA Candidate at Alfred University in Electronic Integrated Art.
