Registration is closed for this event
Discover the science and art behind cinematography and apply those skills to a collaborative project.

Expand your camera skills in this project-based workshop, exploring the basics of cinematography through a study of the JVC 600 camera. This class introduces you to the art of visual storytelling, from storyboarding and screenwriting to frame rates, exposure, peaking and ISO, as well as camera movements and framing. You will also work on collaborative storytelling with your classmates, rotating roles on a production crew.

This class is part of our Video Production track. Learn more about our Media Education tracks here.

Newcomer: Perfect for students who want an introduction to media, these classes are intended for those who have never worked with the equipment and/or software before. Fundamentals will be taught from the very beginning with plenty of time to address questions.

Certification: This workshop will certify you to borrow Open Signal's iPad Filmmaking Kits—each of which includes an iPad that comes equipped with lenses, a light, microphones and a tripod, as well as filmmaking, editing and animation apps. It also lets you submit videos to our TV channels!
