Emancipator "Baralku" Official Music Video

General Information
Short Description:
Baralku - Official Music Video for Emancipator
Description:
"Baralku" was shot on location in Oregon with a 100% independent film crew, with a female filmmaker, female producer, and females in numerous key crew positions. Director's statement: When Eagles Hunt Your Drone....(True Story) There's always some amazing mana collaborating on projects with Emancipator - he's a gifted and true artist - and this music video was no different, especially with the addition of producer/writer/photographer Summer Wuerthner to the creative team. When Summer first shared the concept, director Erin Galey was envisioning moody & dark visuals. However once they heard the song, they were both pleasantly surprised with it's playful and lighthearted approach. Erin was inspired by the way some of her outdoor communities dealt with the passing of life in the past - as a celebration coexisting with loss - so it was easy for her to approach the story from that perspective of savoring their brother's journey, rather than mourning. And feeling honored to send him off to the mythical island of Baralku. Like Doug, Summer and Erin both spend a lot of time outside being inspired by nature, so it was easy to bring this story to life in Oregon - a place all three of them really cherish and find deep inspiration from, as does much of the team on this project. We faced some pretty insane odds on this shoot - winter storms, hail, ice, freezing cold temperatures, winter camping, zero showers, misbehaving camera gear, hard drive failures, a tight production schedule, lofty hair/makeup/wardrobe goals, and practically everything else nature could throw at us. However, somehow this team was completely ride or die - they worked super hard, did way more than the job they were hired for, and helped contribute to a really amazing working environment. Shooting in 6K on the Red Weapon was a dream, as was working with the new DJI Inspire 2. Alex and Page often launched the drone in skeptical weather windows where sometimes we had to land and wait it out, and other times we captured absolute magic - who could have predicted an eagle would hunt the drone during magic hour while the camera was rolling? Or that it would snow fat flakes that went perfectly with the vibe and storyline? The production team and talent were simply all time, embracing the challenges and happy accidents and laughing and loving it all. We're unbelievably proud of the level of cohesion we shared making this video, and the gorgeous final product that came out of the process. Maybe the island of Baralku was shining down upon us somehow.
