Intro to Video Processing

Want to explore how distortion can add unique elements to your videos? Looking for ways to give your video productions an authentic, lo-fi feel?

Discover how to intentionally alter the look of your videos using glitches and video feedback produced through experimental analog video processing techniques. You'll learn the basics of signal flow and practice using our video processors and mixers—giving you the tools to create and record original video art in real-time or to enhance larger video productions.

You can use your own content and process existing footage from media devices (including VCRs, laptops and media players) or glitch-out live circuit feeds from closed-circuit cameras.

This class is part of our Experimental Media track. Learn more about our media education tracks here.

Introductory: Aimed at novice media makers with some prior knowledge of media production, Introductory classes move at a pace for learners who are new to the field of media but already have a basic understanding of the concepts in the class description.
