Studio Volunteer Training: Studio Control Room and Technical Direction
Learn television production skills through our series of free Studio Volunteer workshops. Each workshop focuses on one aspect of our industry-standard HD soundstages. Taking any of the workshops puts you on our studio crew volunteer list, making sure you build on those skills by volunteering on an existing Open Signal cable series. Learn on set with our community of producers, get valuable behind-the-scenes experience and see your work on our cable channels!
This week: Studio Control Room and Technical Direction!
A ship needs a good captain at the helm as every studio production needs a great Technical Director. Register for our Studio Control Room and Technical Direction workshop and learn the ins and outs of studio technical direction. Spend time understanding how signals go in and out of the switcher in both studio control rooms and how different methods used by Technical Directors change the mood of a production. Learn the language of Technical Direction (including hand signals for when cameras are rolling) and other technical control room skills. After completion of the class you will be added to a list of volunteers willing to be contacted for studio control room and technical direction for our regularly produced television series.
This workshop will not result in certification for studios.
