Do you want to use video projection as a creative medium? In this workshop, you'll be introduced to video installation techniques, including:
- Scripting spatial experiences for people exploring your installation space, including a brief introduction to projection mapping
- Looping and cycling moving images
- Synchronization of sound and images
Through hands-on exercises and discussions, you'll discover how to craft powerful, experiential works of public art that engage viewers and express unique perspectives through projection. Students are given an extra week between the third and fourth sessions to produce their original work.

Introductory: Aimed at novice media makers with some prior knowledge of media production, Introductory classes move at a pace for learners who are new to the field of media but already have a basic understanding of the concepts in the class description.
Certification: This workshop allows you to book time in our classroom* for free. You will also be able to reserve our MacBook Pro laptops, our hard drives, an iPad kit and Open Signal's Video Installation kit, which contains the following:
- BenQ SH 940 Projector with power cord
- HDMI cord
- VGA cord
- Manfrotto tripod with a camera plate
- Canon EOS 60D Camera with a battery and SD Card
You'll also be able to submit videos to our TV channels!
*Our classroom is available on Fridays from 2 to 10pm and on Sundays from 1 to 4pm, based on availability.
