Intermediate Color Correction: DaVinci Resolve

From Vertigo to Moonlight, great directors have used color palettes to lend mood and atmosphere to their films. In this one-session workshop, you'll experiment with small shifts in tone that can change the feel of your scenes.

You'll learn how a color palette can enhance your storytelling technique and build skills to import and export your footage, as well as how to organize your shots and find an editing workflow. You'll also interpret LOG footage and study nodes, waveforms, color wheels, curves, power windows, exposure levels and Look Up Tables (LUT).

This class is part of our Post Production track. Learn more about our Media Education tracks here.

Intermediate: These workshops are suitable for students who have worked with the equipment or software before but want to brush up on their knowledge and take things a step further. Intermediate classes review basic concepts and move at a quicker pace, allowing for time to explore more concepts.

Recommended Prior Experience: If you haven't edited a video before, we recommend taking either Intro to Editing: Final Cut Pro X or Intro to Editing: Adobe Premiere first. If you have never used a Mac before, we recommend taking Mac Basics before this class.

Certification: This workshop will certify you to reserve a MacBook Pro laptop that comes with DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X and Adobe Creative Cloud. You will also be able to borrow our hard drives and submit videos to our channels!
